VISIT THE MALASPINA CASTLE AND ENJOY THE VIEW
Located on top of the Serravalle hill, the castle of the Malaspina di Bosa was built in 1112 by the Tuscan family of the Malaspinas . The medieval fortification, around which various legends revolve, is surrounded by a wall with originally four towers and over the centuries it underwent various reconstructions. The castle served as the seat of several noble families, while also performing a defensive function and acting as a lookout post.
While visiting the castle, don't miss the Church of Our Lady of Sos Regnos Altos located in the parade ground. That small temple built between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries houses a precious cycle of fourteenth-century frescoes of the Spanish school, rediscovered in 1972 during the restoration works. The castle dominates the city of Bosa and offers a breathtaking view of the colorful houses of the village and its surroundings. It can be reached via a steep staircase, open to the public from Monday to Sunday.

MUSEUM OF TANNING AND ANCIENT TANNERIES
The Tanneries are a symbol of proto-industrial archeology of Sardinia. The tanning tradition of Bosa dates back to ancient Rome. Rediscovered in the seventeenth century , it grew to become a thriving business from the second half of the nineteenth century to the entire first half of the twentieth century .
Some buildings still stand along the left bank of the Temo , near the Ponte Vecchio; the terraced alignment of the factories is one of the most famous images of Bosa. Known by the name of Sas Conzas (the conce) there were up to 30 factories active in the golden age. Gradually, the activity decreased and then ceased in the second part of the 20th century due to the unhealthiness of the production process and the miasma produced by the processing, now incompatible with the new tourist vocation of the city. The two-story buildings, built in red trachyte, have been reconverted in recent decades to house businesses and homes.
The Tannery Museum was built in one of the best preserved buildings dating back to the 1700s. On the ground floor there are the well, the press and the basins where the skins were immersed. The phases of tanning , coloring and washing on the first floor while on the upper floor the finishing phase from which the sole and cowhide were obtained, requested by the bookbinders of Cagliari. The itinerary shows the processing techniques. The visitor can walk on the glass surface that covers the original tanks and identify with the hard daily work of the workers immersed in water and lime, intent on manipulating the fresh hides, until obtaining the highest quality productions that made, for almost a century, the town of Bosa the capital of tanneries in Italy, appreciated and sold in the peninsula and abroad.
The museum is open to the public all year round from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 19.00.
While visiting the museum, don't miss a walk along via Lungo Temo Emilio Scherer, where you can see other ancient tanneries in Bosa.

St. Peter's Cathedral,
One of the oldest Romanesque churches in Sardinia, located in Calameda. The cathedral was built between 1062 and 1073 near the ancient necropolis of Bosa Vetus , the ancient city founded by the Romans.
The first documents of the church date back to an inscription from 1073 by bishop Costantino de Castra . In the Judicial age the church was the seat of the Diocese of Bosa, until, following the foundation of the nearby medieval village (now Bosa), it was moved to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception .
The arch above the portal is interesting, the architrave of which is carved with small arches that house the Madonna and Child (in the centre), the Emperor Constantine the Great (on the left), and the saints Peter and Paul (on the sides).
TOUR IN THE RIVER BY BOAT, SUP OR CANOE
The first thing you will notice arriving in Bosa is certainly the Temo river, the only navigable river in Sardinia for about 6 kilometres, from its mouth to the Church of San Pietro. Going up the river aboard a vintage boat is an interesting experience that in Sardinia can only be done in Bosa . Sailing along the Temo river allows you to admire the Ancient Tanneries that characterize the aspect of the left bank, while on the right bank the beautiful colorful medieval district of Sa Costa stands out with its nineteenth-century buildings, dominated by the Malaspina Castle.
Another nice experience to do is a SUP excursion , for lovers of the genre, along the river until you reach the sea. In the area it is also possible to take part in paragliding , horse riding or cycling , canoeing , windsurfing and diving .
VISIT THE MEDIEVAL QUARTER OF "SA COSTA"
Among the beautiful cobbled streets of the ancient medieval district of Sa Costa . Here you can only get around on foot, the best way to navigate the alleys, arcades, squares and steep stairways. Stroll along the colorful main street of Bosa, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, where you will find most of the bars, restaurants and shops.
In Constitution Square , formerly named after Umberto I, you will find Sa Funtana Manna , a monumental marble fountain. The square is also surrounded by the noble palaces Delitala and Don Carlo.
Immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of the coast
This naturalistic jewel will allow you to admire places of extraordinary wild beauty such as the inlets of Cane Malu, Cala é Moros, Cala Rapina, Sabba Drucche, Compoltittu, Porto Managu and the volcanic cliffs of Capo Marrargiu, where the griffon vulture nests.
